Kenzie and Great Grandma (3/13).
We were all trying so hard to get her to smile for the camera. Though her GC was holding her, I think Grandpa Mick was making some fun sounds for her (3/15).
I had to get a picture of Kenzie and her Grandpa Mick...they matched beautifully...and not on purpose (3/16).
St. Pat's morning while I was packing the car. Her cow baby is all up in her face. They are her new favorite toys.
I bought Mickenzie a new St. Pat's dress. All day she was trying to eat the bottom of her dress. Not the most lady-like, but so cute (3/17).It's hard to believe that March is coming to a quick close. Though the end of the month may not seem important to some, I'm already struggling with the fact that I have to go back to work. I keep reminding myself that Mickenzie won't be traumatized, instead it will be me who will be on the phone with who knows who that morning to get some pep-talks. I had a parent of a former student tell me that when I go back if she needed to pick Mickenzie up everyday and bring her to me during lunch she would. That would work so wonderfully if she were in Pendleton...maybe I'll call on her a few times next fall.
Mickenzie and I made our first road trip alone this past week. Friday we left for Portland to visit her GC and Grandpa Mick. We stopped to visit Troy in Umatilla as our first stop (all of 15 minutes into our drive) then stopped at Auntie Angi's work to say hi. Then we were off. How lucky I was that we made it clear to her Great Grandma's house before she woke up. We spent the afternoon with Great Grandma...both had a great time.
Saturday was spent doing all sorts of shopping. My Aunt has me slightly addicted to organizing things in my house. I'm getting rid of quite a bit, and wanted to scour Ikea for some organizers. Mom wanted to go to the Pendleton store, and of course while we were out Mickenzie needed to go on her first trip to Powell's (Troy wasn't with us so it was okay to spend an hour looking for books). We also did a Target run and went to dinner that night. Mickenzie is a great shopper...she loves the bright lights in stores and the constant movement. She slept the bulk of the time.
We finally made it home late Tuesday afternoon. Mickenzie had a few extra hours Sunday and Monday to spent with her grandparents and I took a few much needed naps. I'm going to enjoy our last few days together before life really does become crazy.
Cheers to a great Thursday!

As a side: Thanks Lorin for keeping me on track...Lord knows I need it. :)
