Mickenzie's neighbor Nathan came over to visit. He liked sitting on the couch with all of Mickenzie's blankets.

Sitting on her big-big-girl bed. I put a hair bow in her hair for a few minutes for fun. It leaves quite the waffle mark, so she doesn't really wear them. Just for fun for the picture (1/24).

Mickenzie will be angry with her parents some day over taking pictures of her big-little thighs.

Kenzie with her two babies (1/24).

Kenzie at eight weeks (1/25). I decided she could wear her Christmas shirt a month later too.

My little bundle of joy and I.

Napping in her big-girl bed...with a little drool of course (1/26).

This week Mickenzie has done a lot of sitting with her dad. Though his incisions were small, his knee sure can swell up nice and big.

In the past week Mickenzie has loved her swing. The fish up top are wonderful (1/27).

Going for a car ride with her pink-bink and Baby (1/27).

Later she fell asleep with Baby. It was so cute.

This morning (1/30) we went for a ride and this was her look in the pick-up. She even had her arm around her baby. How cute!

Lots of pictures....what a week will do!

Resting in her bouncy chair. She loves it!

Ted held Kenzie while Dad fed her (1/17). It was a two-man operation, but they did it. I spent the downtime reading a magazine.

Chatting with Auntie Angi (1/17).

More chatting with her GC. Though it was a fairly one-sided conversation, Mickenzie seemed interested. I wish I could have caught her on the phone with her Grandpa Mick last night...she was really chatty with him.

A six-week pic (1/18).

Mickenie and I on at 6-weeks. (1/18)

On Tuesday we went to the Dr. to see about her cold. This is how into Mr. Obama she was. We were actually at WalMart during his speech.

Hanging with Dad after his surgery (1/21). We are so blessed that it wasn't as bad as we thought! It looks like we're only off of work for some weeks, not months. Excellent.

My little Maggie Simpson with her binkie (1/21). If only the picture came with sound.

She's starting to figure out her toys (1/21). She wouldn't let go of her burpcloth when I set her down...so she played with it too.

Josh and Syndey came over for a while. Sydney read Mickenzie some stories (Care Bears and Witzy) and played on her mat with her. Syd even helped to feed her a bottle. She's going to be a great friend to Kenzie when she gets older.

Sydney wanted for me to scoot Mickenzie over so they could share her Boppy. Somehow Syd managed to scoot right next to her and put her arms around her. For those that think I'm mean because she's naked...I was trying to keep her awake so she would sleep when normal people do. It worked!

Dad and Kenzie on the couch (1/22). Troy has been great with helping to feed her while he's at home. I even did some house work.

Napping with her dad.

After last night's bottle (1/22). She was zonked. Sorry about the short pants...she's getting huge!

TGIF!!!

I'm going to need to ask Amy for help on this one. This picture is suppose to be at the bottom. I can't seem to cut and paste...maybe I just don't get it...I have no idea. Oh well. We've had quite the AM already. :)

Well, we just finished with our bath (the worst thing aside from being hungry) and are playing on the floor. I just decided to take a few pictures of our wonderful set up. Her play mat is in the laundry right now, so I've hooked her up with her hot pink cow blanket that I made her last summer (before I knew she was a she...I'm glad she gets to use the blanket). I decided since she hates to be on her back to give her the boppy to lean on...and the toys that went with the play mat as visual stimulation. The following is what we got...

So that lasted for all of a few minutes. Mickenzie allowed me just enough time to click on things to begin uploading for you to see, pin my hair up to straighten...and she screamed. We just ate part of a bottle...urped a bit....and this is our current state...

Right before we left for Casey and Tomara's. Somehow she managed to rotate her head over and over again until the flower on her hat was backward. This was the first time she let us put a hat on her for an extended period of time.
Doesn't she look thrilled that we're taking a picture of her eating? Troy wanted to take this picture for Tom and Sara Moran...to show off her cute outfit.

These are all backward in progression during our day. I went to finish getting myself ready before dressing Mickenzie. I came out, and again, she and her dad were asleep. It seems to be a trend around this place. That chair screams sleep to all who dare to sit in it.

We went to Casey and Tomara Maddox's house to help put in a shop door. Kenzie and I weren't much help, we just sat and watched. More than anything I wanted to get out of the house for a while. I love the colors of the walls and all, but seriously...we need some social interaction too.
Wednesday Mickenzie made her first appearance at Ooh La La. She and Lindsay had a great time chatting. Kenzie was especially interested in all of the bright lights and seeing the foil put in my hair. We also went to SMS to say hello for a few minutes. Some of the boys giggled as she tooted all during a Leadership meeting....oh it's the simple things in life.

I need to be better about the order in which I upload photos, it's always backward. This was Mickenzie when we came home. We were sitting on hold with the Doctor's office to make dad's appointment for surgery. Her bunny hat is way too big, but too cute not to wear.
Before we left. She seems to really enjoy this frontoack. Now I just need to figure out how to fold clothes while she's in it. We attempted jeans and I struggle to do that one-handed.

Kenzie in her cute pink outfit from Christi, Dave, and Addie. It's a bit too big yet, but she's growing like a weed.

Just a fun picture from earlier today when I got home from the dentist. She was great for her Grandma Marks this morning. I made it home just in time to eat some quick breakfast/lunch for her to wake up. We wound up taking a nap together this afternoon in Troy's chair.

I'm officially a nerd. I took this little movie of Mickenzie right before changing her into her clothes. I hope it works. Troy and I got a wonderful new video camera for Christmas, but we need to figure out how to merge all of our "mini-clips" into one major motion picture.

The big weekend...

Mickenzie asleep in her bed right before I had to wake her up to get in the truck to leave for her first big road tip to Canby!
The confused look (sideways at that) that I got when I woke her up. As you can tell, she was real impressed.

Mickenzie meeting her Cousin Sandy (Grandma Mick's first cousin) and Uncle Dennis (Grandpa Mick's best friend) and his wife Aunt Carolyn.

Meeting Great-grandma Jinny for the first time. Kenzie was a bit tired...why can't she do this in the middle of the night?
Staring at her Aunt Donna. She thought Aunt Donna was the best diaper changer in the world (much faster than her slow-poke mom).

Having a snack with Uncle Kim...she likes to eat.
Chatting with Cousin Aubrey.

Kenzie chatting with her two favorite guys....Dad and Grandpa Mick.

I spoke too soon...she really loves her Cousin Zach. He took her on a "mini-tour" of Target. The next time she goes she'll know exactly where the Automotive section is.

Thw ehole family that was there to meet Mickenzie for the first time.

A four-generation picture...

Sitting with her Grandpa Mick before we left to come home to Hermiston.

Another sideways picture...Mickenzie in her carrier yesterday. She wouldn't let me put her down.
We had an eventful weekend of travelling to the Portland area. Mickenzie was a wonderful traveller. She actually slept from Hermiston until we hit stopped traffic right before we could merge onto 205. That's when all hell broke loose. I came to the resolve real quick that I wouldn't mind a ticket for being turned around in the front seat and leaning back to find the beloved binkie. Too bad it never stayed in her mouth for long.
We wound up stopping at Babies R Us to get a few things, feed Mickenzie, then attempt the first diaper change in public. Somehow we got it all figured out, but I know I looked funny stepping out of the bathroom with Mickenzie in my arms, the diaper bag sort of flung over a shoulder, and her changing pad in one hand. Thankfully I had backup (Dad) to help me get her all put back together.
Mickenzie attended her first OASC meeting on Saturday. She slept during the bulk of it, which was nice. She let Nancy hold her for a few minutes before she started her panic before she falls asleep.
Saturday afternoon Lorin came over (friend from HS). It was great catching up for a while. Then "company" came. As you can see from the pictures we had quite the group. I was glad that so many of Mickenzie's relatives were able to come out to the house to meet her. She was passed around and when I finally laid her down for bed....well, it didn't work so well.
Sunday we headed home for Hermiston. Amazingly she slept the whole way home, including a stop at Coastal and the Carter's outlet. It was great not having to worry about feeding her while in the truck...or having to do another diaper. I'm a bit phobic about germs on public changing stations. Oh well, someday I hope to be quick enough that I don't have to worry...until then.
This afternoon we went for a walk...what an adventure. Actually I put her in her front pack thing at about 3:30, loaded the dishwasher (one of the few chores she'll let me do), then she fell asleep...I got her all wrapped up....and we made it clear to the first onion shed before turning around. Our neighbor Sandy stopped us in the driveway to meet Mickenzie. I pulled back her blanket and bunny hat so she could take a peek. I'll post pictures of her bundled up sometime later.
I hope that all is going well for you.
Sara and Mickenzie (who is still in her frontpack, bundled up, between me and the desk).
